Friday in Fridaville

July 13th, 2012

Oh Friday. You rock my week, my world, my tiny corner of the galaxy. Especially a Friday that starts with a creative meeting at work and progresses to some serious crushing on cashmere at my favorite shop. A Friday night that involves happy hour with old friends while we plan our tomato-picking excursion at a local farm and scour recipes for converting them into quarts of marinara sauce to freeze for the winter.  A Friday night that includes digging deep into the Sonos playlist I titled UP because that’s where it takes me, music that ranges from Juanes and John Coltrane to Ariel Pink and the Velvet Underground with stops along the way at Dwight Yoakum, Wilco and Belinda Carlisle singing in French. A Friday night of Prosecco and potato chips. A Friday night that bundles up Monday through Thursday and spins gold out of the chaff of a tedious work week. Oh Friday.

Oh, this post makes me wish that I were still working a regular work week! Your words paint a picture of that deep breath that Friday offers for folks who have just finished a busy five days. Enjoy your weekend.
